Few in the Kingdom of Thanaloria remember a time before the seer Selbrineth Calaraen served the Silverleaf family. For over seven centuries, she has seen generations of elves rise and fall. When his daughter died giving birth to Kaylia, Rathlorien appointed Selbrineth as his granddaughter’s nursemother, raising, educating, and guiding the child with a devotion that went far beyond duty. She taught Kaylia the wisdom to listen before acting, the strength to lead without pride, and the grace to wield power without letting it consume her.
When Kaylia stepped forward to lead the fellowship of the Silverleafs against the Conclave Arcana, Selbrineth went with her. Rathlorien didn’t approve, but he knew better than to argue. Kaylia protested too, but deep down, she was relieved to have the old seer at her side.
Like the mages of the Silverleaf family, Selbrineth summons a cyclone of razor-sharp leaves around her. They carve through hidden waywatchers, assassins, and any who dare strike her. Her magic is honed by centuries of experience, but it is her quiet strength that matters most. She is the heart of the fellowship. Kaylia loves her. They all do. Fiercely.
Selbrineth knows this is a battle they cannot win—not without reinforcements. But if it comes to it, she will die fighting for the girl she raised, her daughter in all but name.
