Ellie Kemper (b. 1980) is an American actress. Born to a prominent Missouri family — fans of 1970s/80s sports will remember Kansas City's Kemper Arena — she attended Princeton and Oxford before diving into improv comedy. Her big break came as receptionist Erin Hannon in five seasons of The Office, but her biggest star turn was as the title character in Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
