This model was trained on 19th Century prints of the corals, sponges, and fish of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. These prints were the work of pioneering marine biologist William Saville-Kent, who used a custom-built tripod and specialised filters to photograph marine life from above the water's surface with primitive camera equipment. Saville-Kent used these photographs as the basis for beautiful colour illustrations that captured the vibrant colours and patterns of tropical marine life.
This model reproduces the smooth textures, rich detail, and vivid colours of the original prints.
