This model began as a failed physical art project. I created a 3D printed artwork using two filaments: the first containing powdered bronze, the second coloured with used coffee grounds. I treated the bronze components with vinegar to speed up the development of a patina. The contrast between the crystalline blues and greens of the patinaed bronze and the rich browns of the coffee was very pleasing, but the overall piece didn't come together as I had planned.
A few months later I took a close-up picture of the artwork and used this to train a LoRA that reproduces the varied textures and shades of the coffee and oxidised bronze. It can be tricky to find the right subjects and prompts for this model, but once these are found the rewards are rich colours, organic patterns, and a unique aesthetic.
