海南鱼茶Hainan Yucha (Originally: 海南鱼鲊Hainan Yuzha. 鲊Zha means pickled fish.)
A kind of fermented foods from Hainan Province, China.
Because of its smell, it is one of the several foods called "Chinese canned herring".
Rice, raw fish, and Jiuqu(Fermentation starter) are put into jars and fermented for about 25 days.
Depending on the method, the degree of fermentation can be judged by the maggots growing in it.
This is similar to the most original Japanese sushi.
