Veronika Nikulshina (b. 1997) is a Russian activist, model, and artist. She's best known as a member of the punk protest group Pussy Riot (alongside Nadya Tolokonnikova). In the 2018 World Cup final in Sochi, she invaded the pitch in a protest of government repression of Putin opponents; she was jailed for 15 days as a result. A few months later, her boyfriend and fellow pitch invader Pyotr Verzilov was poisoned by Russian agents.
After two more arrests on trumped-up charges, Nikulshina fled Russia in July 2021, citing Putin's ongoing repression. In December 2021, she was added to the Russian government's bogus list of "foreign agents," which limits her ability to speak or write publicly. But it appears she later returned to Russia, because in 2022 she was denied entry to neighboring Georgia when she attempted to flee again after the invasion of Ukraine.
