Reeva Steenkamp (1983-2013) was a South African model, presenter, and actress. She had a successful career until February 14, 2013 — Valentine's Day — when she was shot and murdered by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius, a previously lionized paralympian, in their home. (Pistorius claimed that he thought she was an unknown intruder.) She had a bachelor of laws degree from what would become Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Pastorius was released from prison on parole on November 24, 2023.
